Evaluation

The Applied Social Research Unit (ASRU) conducts process and outcomes evaluation studies of programs and services. Study design is tailored to evaluation needs. ASRU staff members work with program or service personnel, clients, and other interested parties to collect information about:

• effectiveness and efficiency of processes, programs, and services;
• participant or client satisfaction with programs or services;
• program or service goal achievement; and
• strategies for improving processes, programs, or services.

Ideally, the evaluation strategy is built into the initial program or service design so that necessary records are kept and the delivery process can be continuously improved. The ASRU uses research approaches including surveys, interviews, and analysis of participant or client data to conduct evaluation studies.
